Overview

Mazda’s largest vehicle provides a luxurious ride for up to seven people. The CX-9 brings class-leading ingress/egress for rear passengers, a powerful yet fuel efficient 3.7-litre V6 engine and all the modern conveniences of a large family SUV.

A vast array of standard safety features will ensure your most precious cargo - your family - is given the ultimate protection available. Mazda’s MAIDAS cabin structure, along with a full complement of airbags, covers all occupants from front to rear, while Dynamic Stability Control and Roll Stability Control help prevent skidding or loss of control.

CX-9 spoils all occupants with convenience, choice and enviable luxury. With its supportive, comfortable seats, three-zone climate control air-conditioning and an abundance of storage areas, the Mazda CX-9 makes every outing a five-star journey.

Power Mirrors

Power exterior mirrors provide excellent rear vision. CX-9 Luxury and Ground Touring mirrors are heated and feature a three-position memory function. Additionally, reverse parking is assisted by a tilt-down function when reverse gear is selected.

Power tailgate

Piling shopping, bags and all the kid’s stuff into the back of the CX-9 Grand Touring is simple with a power tailgate that opens with ease with the press of a button on the remote locking unit.

Three-zone climate control air-conditioning

Smart keyless entry and engine start

On the CX-9 Grand Touring, smart keyless entry lets you get in and start up, all without searching for keys. Just carry the remote locking unity and you can enter by pressing a button on either front door and start the engine just as easily.

CX-9 has been designed with plenty of storage spaces throughout the cabin. It comes with a large lockable glove box, glasses storage compartment, numerous cup holders, door pockets and a double-lid console that is designed to improve accessibility for rear passengers.

Performance

Active Torque Split AWD

ATS AWD makes the most of every driven inch, constantly assessing road conditions and distributing precise increments and subtractions of torque to suit.

Power & Torque

You might not need 367Nm of torque and 204kW of power to drop the kids off at Saturday sport, but when they’re out of the car, you’ll appreciate the exciting driving dynamics of the CX-9.

Handling and dynamics

As with all Mazda vehicles, excellent handling and dynamics are a give. The CX-9 features a MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension configuration for a refined ride and superior handling. Superbly weighted hydraulically power assisted steering provides plenty of feedback and quick responses to driver input.

6-speed Activematic transmission

Activematic transmission means you can switch from easy-about-town auto to now-you’re-really driving manual mode with the flick of the wrist.

Safety

Active head restraints

The front seats feature active head restraints designed to minimise whiplash in the event of a rear impact. As impact forces push the occupant into the seat back, the head restraint is pushed forwards minimising the distance the head has to travel before meeting the head restraint. The risk of neck injury is therefore dramatically reduced.

Airbags

When family is the number one priority it's good to know that you're protected. CX-9 offers the best passive safety protection available.  A full complement of Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) airbags including front (driver and passenger), side (front) and curtain (front and rear) combine with 3-point lap/sash seat belts all round plus seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters up front.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)

An uncompromising approach to safety includes standard Dynamic Stability Control which helps the driver out of sticky situation when oversteer or understeer is detected.

MAIDAS

Mazda’s Advance Impact Distribution and Absorption System (MAIDAS) is designed to maintain the integrity of the occupant cell, reducing the risk of serious injury. The body architecture features a ‘Triple H’ structure that protects passengers while dispersing and absorbing impact forces in the event of an accident.
